Assault Wargear (Yellow)

Yellow wargear can be used to support your troops (offensive/skirmish heroes) or turrets (defensive heroes).

For offensive heroes, the best wargear is damage and speed bonus, for the specific troops you use most. Later on, you may have different heroes that specialize in boosting different unit types.

If you have to decide between speed bonus and damage bonus, consider using speed bonus for slower and higher-dps units as well as units with a shorter attack range. These units spend more time travelling from one target to the next than they do attacking targets, so speed bonus benefits them more. A good example is tacticals.

Faster and lower-dps units spend more time attacking their targets, so boosting damage is better. For example, terminators benefit more from damage boost than speed boost.

If you run a mix of units, put damage bonuses on the units with the highest damage. For example, if you are using terminators and jetbikes, jetbike damage bonus is much better than terminator damage bonus because your jetbikes are doing 90+% of the total damage of your army. So boosting the bigger damage is better.

For skirmish heroes, the best wargear depends on your playstyle. If you are using a Strength Strategy, damage bonus is probably better. If you are using a Speed Strategy, speed is better.

For defensive heroes, damage bonus to specific turrets is generally best. See Defensive Relics for guidelines on choosing the best turrets to boost. The same principles apply to wargear.
