Mine Placement

Mines are not usually game-changers but against certain unit types they can be very effective. Anti-infantry mines are good against tacticals but don't typically help with much else. Anti-armor mines are good against dreadnoughts and predators but don't do significant damage to glaives. Haywire mines are good against predators, dreadnoughts and glaives.

Place haywire mines in such a location where the units caught in them will be in range of your turrets (preferably the ones that are deadly to vehicles (beamers, multi-melta, gravitons, etc.)

Mines can be hidden behind buildings or relics. A player using units vulnerable to mines will usually scope out the base and deathstorm/orbital mines on their attack path. The better you hide them, the more likely they will miss one or two.
